The multiple uses of Peppermint Oil!

When the cold weather is here, I look for many options to keep my family healthy, with so many virus and crowded places everywhere due to the holiday season. This is when I rely on essential oils to find relief and comfort.

The first Winter storm of the year! 

 One of my favorites oils, to diffuse, inhale and apply is "Peppermint". I like the delicate scent of peppermint to help relieve symptoms of stress, headache, muscle pain and respiratory problems. One thing I need to share with you, is I was diagnosed with "emotional" asthma when I turned 15 years old (emotional such a stress, tension or situations I cannot handle) which now I treat it with this powerful oil.

 The easiest way to apply essential oil, is directly to your index finger and rub carefully your temples and forehead with your fingertips. If you are like me, that I run away from germs and avoid getting sick, then you would like to clean with Peppermint oil or have a spray water bottle. How to do that? Easy! I combine 5 drops of Peppermint oil for every cup of water, then mix it and enjoy that smell while cleaning. It's healthy and you are not even using chemicals which is a win win!.

 My daughter, frequently wants to go play outside, she is an outdoors kinda of girl and I don't blame her! I totally love that. But, during the cold temperatures she is risky to catch a cold so I usually rub Peppermint oil on her chest and back, to relieve nasal congestion and coughing. It works wonders!. If you don't like applying directly on the skin you can just add a few drops to the humidifier.

The lovely side of playing with dinosaurs!

I'm always looking for new playful ideas that keep my daughter busy specially now when we get to spend more time indoors since it's very cool out there. That's when I applied to review the Kids Imaginative Dinosaur Toy Figures & Learning Resources for Toddlers, Boys & Girls.

What happens when you get educational toys?.  The kids are more interested in reading about our past and the amazing world of the prehistoric era. What I'm loving the most is they are sharing with friends about dinos and their names. For example, my daughter is learning more about the colors and how different they are from herbivores, plant-eaters, or carnivorous. She is not only getting to expand her vocabulary but having a good time playing which I think it's the point of getting toys that are going to last forever. 

These wonderful creatures might not longer be on earth but it's pretty awesome to recreate the history through play time with friends and siblings. Why having screening time when they can build awesome memories by playing with fun dinos?.

Cold weather calls for a tea!

Every time the cold weather hit us I start thinking of ways to keep my family warm and healthy through the season. Living in Utah surrounded by beautiful mountains and crazy weather make us vulnerable to colds and dry skin. 

When I first went dating with my now partner for life he took me to a restaurant where they serve tea after dinner (I fell in love right away). We are both tea fans and our favorite is Green Tea.

I recently got the opportunity to try Matcha organic ceremonial premium Green Tea powder by Midori Spring. First time tasting an organic tea powder. I'm so impressed by the presentation of this product, just check out my picture and you will be surprised too!. 

It's like a small can with a top you have to pull out to get it open. What are you going to notice first? I gotta say the SMELL!. WOW! It has a fresh smell, no chemicals, no strong essence at all. Just pure and fresh Green Tea made in Japan with 30g of pure goodness!. 

 I just followed the instructions found in the back of the product which consist of: 

1 cup of hot water 
1/2 tsp of Green Tea powder 
Optional: Raw organic honey (I added honey instead of sugar to fight a sore throat and I'm winning the battle haha).

When fresh fruits take part of your life!

Since I became a Mom I've always been looking for healthy ways to improve my life in order to be an example to follow for my daughter. She is constantly copying every single step I take and that is why I try hard to do my best to show her good things around.

As part of my family eating habits, we usually include vegetables, fruits and whole grains in our meals. We prefer "homemade" everyday as our menu no matter how hectic life can be.  This is when I got the chance to try the Fruit Infused Water Bottle for the very first time!. I was thinking of so many ways to add fresh fruits to my daily water intake and the possibilities are just endless!

I fill my bottle with 16oz. water and added the fruits to the tube in the middle. I put it in the fridge for 15 minutes before going out and it didn't take longer to taste as good as I expected!. It's just a healthy and delicious homemade fruit water you get to enjoy all day long. I like the fact that my daughter loves it too!. Way better than sugary drinks, of course!.

 It is really easy to clean since it has a removable citrus press that you can use plenty of times.
